Frequently Asked Questions

Installation FAQs

Can I install a wall-hung vanity on any type of wall?
Wall-hung vanities must be securely fixed to a load-bearing wall or a wall with adequate structural reinforcement. Installation on plasterboard alone is not recommended without suitable backing.
Do tallboys, laundry cabinets, and similar items need to be fixed to the wall?
Yes. All tallboys, laundry cabinets, and similar items must be securely fixed to the wall to prevent toppling, which can cause serious injury.
How high should I install my vanity or shaving cabinet?
Installation height is generally based on personal preference. The top of the basin is typically 850–900mm from the floor. Align cabinets to suit plumbing and user comfort.
Can plumbing interfere with drawer function?
Yes. Poorly positioned plumbing can block drawers. Plan plumbing layout to avoid obstruction.
Can I cut into the cabinet to accommodate plumbing?
Yes, but keep cuts minimal. Poor cuts may weaken structure or void warranty. Always follow installation guides.
What do I need to consider when installing a vanity with a stone top?
Stone tops are heavy and fragile. Ensure cabinet is level and supported. Use neutral-cure silicone and don’t overtighten fixtures.
Why don't the vanity drawers align or sit properly after installation?
Drawers may be in wrong positions or wall may be uneven. Recheck layout and level. See Installation Guide.
My shaving cabinet door is not aligned.
Hinges may need adjustment. This is common and usually resolves with minor tweaks post-install.
LED shaving cabinet has power but the light isn't on. What do I do?
Connections may have come loose. Have an electrician check wiring. Refer to installation guide for help.

Design FAQs

Why doesn’t my white vanity match the ceramic basin or stone top?
Slight variations in materials, lighting, and finishes can cause differences. These are cosmetic and expected.
Why are there small variations in pattern or grain on my stone top?
Engineered stone includes natural particles. Pattern and grain variation adds authenticity and uniqueness.
Can I mix and match different Otti vanities, basins, and tapware?
Yes. Most products are designed to coordinate. Check specs and finishes to confirm fit and tone.
Why do colours or finishes look different at home than in-store?
Lighting (natural vs. artificial), room colour, and gloss levels all affect perception. Try viewing samples at home.
How do I choose the right size vanity or cabinet?
Measure available space. Consider users, storage, and plumbing clearance. Wall-hung models suit smaller rooms.
Can I customise the handles or finishes on my vanity?
Some models allow this. Check product page or contact supplier to confirm compatible options.
